Stung

by Lisa-ann Gershwin

Director of the Australian Marine Stinger Advisory Service, she was awarded a Fulbright in 1998 for her studies on Jellyfish blooms and evolution.

She has discovered over 200 new species, one she named after her friend and early mentor MIke Schatt , past Executive Director of Cabrillo Marine Aquarium.

As oceans become more inhospitable to fish ( growing toxicity and rising temperatures), jellyfish are taking over: fewer predators and competitors, warmer waters and more places for larvae to settle and grow.

Lisa-ann Gershwin is described as a “scientist who can write” and this book is vivid, lively and enthralling.
