Barnacle Gray Whale

Barnacles attach themselves to gray whales in the lagoons where the babies are born. They stay on the whales as long as they are alive. When the barnacle die they fall off leaving a small round white circle on the whale. Whale biologists look at the pattern of barnacle clusters in order to tell individual greys apart.

We see Grey Whales from Cabrillo Beach.
